Dike Okoro teaches creative writing/English at Northwestern University, Evanston. A scholar of African literature, Okoro holds a PhD in English with research specialization in African diasporic literatures from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an MA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing from Chicago State University. He was a finalist for the Iliad poetry award and a recipient of the Sam Walton Fellowship in Chicago. He is the editor of several anthologies, including We Have Crossed Many Rivers: New Poetry from Africa (Malthouse 2012), Speaking for the Generations: Contemporary Short Stories from Africa (AWP, 2010), Echoes from the Mountain: New and Selected Poems by Mazisi Kunene (ABC, 2007), Songs for Wonodi: An International Anthology of Poems in Memory of Okogbule Wonodi (Malthouse 2007) and author of two poetry collections, Dance of the Heart (Malt House 2007) and Weeping Shadows (Morris 2000).
